Friend Raising for Heart Havens

United Methodist Men (UMM) across the Virginia Conference have accepted the challenge of being the primary friend-raisers for the Heart Havens ministry and we at Heart Havens greatly appreciate their help. The Heart Havens ministry presents UMM with an opportunity to tell a wonderful story about persons who are developmentally disabled and who need a little help living life to its fullest and realizing the potential God has given them.

Initial Steps in Raising Friends

Make your own pledges and contributions and pray daily for the
Heart Havens ministry.

Meet with the District Superintendent

Meet with the District Ministers Association

Spread the story through all District and local church UMM leaders

Meet with the pastor at the local church

Raising friends will create excitement about the work to be done, the people to be served and the possibilities for the future. Friends, in turn, tell others and the circle of friendship becomes larger. Heart Havens gains a multitude of enthusiastic supporters and storytellers who want to help the ministry achieve its purpose in whatever ways are needed.
