Heart Havens

A Parent's Story
One September day, almost ten years ago, a seed of hope was planted – a seed of hope for the thousands of families in Virginia who have family members with developmental disabilities. It was on that day that some of these families expressed their fears, concerns and hopes for the future of their loved ones. Listening was the Virginia Annual Conference.

We NEED your support to keep the seed of hope growing! Heart Havens is making a difference in the lives of the families of the 45 adults who now live in our homes.

Below is an excerpt written by a parent of one of our residents for a local Community Services Board newsletter. The article shares, in the parent’s words, what a difference Heart Havens has made in the lives of the members of this family. The article is used with the permission of the parent and is taken from In Touch with Norfolk CSB, March 2001.
